A Rose on my forgotten face

                       Maria Do

                                               When black snow comes down
                                                       from my dreams,
I use to carry a rose in my pocket,
                                                    an unperishable light
                                                     and a hidden beach
my heart broken in tiny pieces.
                                                Under the weathered moon,
endless whirlpools flow into my sea
                                                           of secrets.
                                               At dawn, burning comets arise,
                                                    carrying traces of sun,
seeds of light and silver patches

                                                 reminding me of your eyes,
where I could never read the time,
because the pink silk of your fingers
                                                      was always faster,
like a handfull of white candles,
carrying the scent of a rose
                                                    on my forgotten face.
